Bolivar Cigars are renowned for being the rich and full in flavour. Their aromatic strength pays homage the mighty South American General Simon Bolivar – who the brand is named after. Jose F Rocha established Bolivar Cigars in the early 20th century, though it took twenty years for the brand to be registered in Cuba. Cuban Cigar makers Cifuentes y Cia purchased Bolivar and moved production to the factory of Partagas Cigars. In 1938, Rocha left the company to his three sons who made Bolivar one of the greatest brands to produce Cuban Cigars.

Influenced by history and tradition whilst embracing modern innovation – they’re known for perfect craftsmanship and for producing a rich and distinctive taste. The Bolivar Royal Coronas Cigar was awarded “Cigar of the Year” by Cigar Aficionado magazine in 2005, and the Bolivar Belicosos Finos Cigar is highly-regarded as one of the strongest ever made.

This strong taste comes from the use of tobacco from Vuelta Abajo, the tobacco region which provides the best conditions for the cultivation of cigar tobacco. It is the only region that produces each type of tobacco leaf (capa, tripa and capote).
